About Jennifer

I have a B.S. in Computer Science and a B.A. in Liberal Arts from The Evergreen State College (2008). I studied software engineering, as well as the historical, ethical, and political aspects of computing and technology. At Evergreen the programs were challenging and necessitated the completion of extensive writing, research, and public speaking, in addition to technical coursework. My academic career culminated in a senior thesis software project where I designed and developed a database sharing program for scientific researchers at the college.

From 2000-2006 I developed websites for small businesses and larger software companies, including Sesame Communications and Apple Computer. I have a passion for developing engaging, easy to use websites that follow W3C web standards and accessibility guidelines. I enjoyed working with businesses to improve user experience and bring sites inline with web standards, while building their reputations in the community and promoting their financial success.

I entered software engineering because I dig computer programming, thrive on the challenge of solving complex problems, like to simplify tasks for other people, and love the imaginative design process that all of the above requires. I enjoy putting my experience, creativity, and enthusiasm to work developing cutting-edge software.

Please see my resume for more information about my work history and my current career goals. Details on my senior thesis project can be found on the software project page.
